I just cannot consistently win playing on Merge. I’m playing the bottom of the barrel stakes on there, which is 4NL ($0.02/$0.04 blinds). (Yes, I realize my sample size is tiny, but I’m only 1-tabling.) The first image is my graph at the pocket change stakes on Merge.

The second image is how I ran a few years back when I deposited $25 on PokerStars and started playing 2NL ($0.01/$0.02 blinds). If I remember correctly, this was also one table at first and then two or three towards the end of the graph before moving up.

I’m way more experienced than I was when I started on Stars, so you’d think I’d be crushing 4NL. But game quality on Merge is awful, at least it is when I play. Mostly regs, and the few fish have to be the luckiest fish I’ve ever come across… I’m just getting hammered by guys who will stack off with complete junk like 62o and hit their two pair vs my big pocket pair.

I hope things go better in 2012, since I can’t imagine a big upswing in the few remaining days of 2011.
