‘How I Met Your Mother’ Season 9 Spoilers — Ted’s Friends Meet Mother - TVLine

I gave up on this show at the end of season 7 and watched the last episode of season 8. This idea sounds awful.

I’d accuse it of being a rip-off of the previously announced plan for BBC Three’s HIM & HER if I thought the producers were even aware of that show. H&H will also have its entire final series (or season) take place in a single day at a wedding.

Time Flies By

While watching GAME OF THRONES on Sunday as the credits roll, I saw the name Diana Rigg, and I thought to myself… “Where?” Well, it turns out she was the old granny lady…

I completely didn’t recognize her. When I think of Diana Rigg, in my mind’s eye, she still looks like this…

Misfits confirmed as ending after series 5 | Den of Geek

This is one cancellation that I honestly don’t mind. The first two series were really good. Series 3 was a big step down with the loss of Nathan. Then came series 4, which I still haven’t finished watching because I’ve had to force myself through every episode that I have watched. None of the original cast are left, and unlike BEING HUMAN, none of the new cast are as good as the originals that they were supposed to replace.

I’ll watch out of morbid curiosity though. At least, I will if I can ever get through the remainder of series 4.

dailydot: Former G4 host Adam Sessler has some choice words for NBC’s decision to convert the struggling network to an “upscale Bravo for men.” One of the reasons cited was gamers don’t watch television. Wha? Judging from their plan to have cooking and reality shows in place of G4, it sounds like all their doing is creating Bravo 2. I can’t think of too many men (at least straight men) who watch the existing Bravo. (And if I was a gay man, I’d be incredibly insulted that the crap on Bravo is what they think I’d want to see.) It’s hilarious that they’re trying to create a network aimed at “the modern male”. Modern males play video games, and like technology… the things G4 and TechTV started out with as their mandate. TV has given up on and turned away a large chunk of the male audience with reality junk, singing and dancing shows, and often rapidly cancelling anything that is watchable. Most guys probably look at the TV listings and see nothing but GLEE, BIGGEST LOSER, HONEY BOO BOO, DANCING WITH THE STARS, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BAGHDAD, GORDON RAMSEY YELLS AT PEOPLE, or WHITNEY and immediately fire up their console or computer instead. Look at the big four… ABC is essentially the Lifetime network with almost nothing aimed at males. CBS is for old people. Fox was the first big network to jump on the reality garbage truck and have well deserved reputation for cancelling any decent scripted shows. NBC just flounders around trying to appeal to anyone they can. Then these networks all own smaller cable channels that program variations on the same junk their big networks do. There are exceptions, good shows aimed at pretty much anybody who isn’t a drooling idiot. Still, catering to the lowest common denominator has lead to the reality that TV is dying. I wouldn’t count too much on AMC, they’re starting their descent down the slope of trash TV with the new circus freak and taxidermy reality shows they’re starting this week. Within five years, they’ll become the same dump that The Learning Channel TLC, Bravo, A&E, Court TV Tru-TV, SciFi Syfy, The History Channel, etc have become.
